Hilaria Baldwin co-sleeps when breastfeeding her kids, but stopped for her son's 'safety'  3 Months ago

Hilaria Baldwin is missing her youngest son a little more these days.

The mom of four shared on social media that she was going to stop co-sleeping with her almost 1-year-old baby boy for his safety. She said that she normally co-sleeps with her children for about a year while nursing them.

"I feel very safe with it because Alec and I are both very light, stationary sleepers," Baldwin writes. "Romeo has begun to move around much more than my other ones while he sleeps."

Because of this, the 35-year-old mom said that Romeo will start sleeping in his crib overnight even though she'll greatly miss cuddling with him. The photo she posted showed her nursing her baby from the "last night he was in bed" with the Baldwins.

"It was tough, and there were definitely tears—both his and mostly mine...but I know that everyone has to grow up. We will just have to cuddle that much more during the day."

The American Academy of Pediatrics set out guidelines for parents on co-sleeping with their babies to prevent SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).

They recommend infants share a bedroom with their parents for at the least the first six months, but not share the same sleeping surface like the bed. The AAP also suggests breastfeeding as a way to prevent SIDS, but asks mothers to move their babies to their own separate sleeping area.
